Flowering Gum in Irish Green Glass

This painting acts as a visual dialogue between my two homes, anchoring my Irish heritage within my Australian life. Resting in my Irish green glass vase, a branch of Australian flowering gum from my garden stands as a symbol of dual citizenship, where the deep roots of my past meet the home I now cherish. My practice centres on spontaneous, alla prima brush strokes using oil paint ,with a subtle use of impasto to build tactile depth directly on the canvas.
