Anyone who lives in Victoria Australia will find it hard to forget the COVID-19 lockdowns.

The National Gallery of Victoria's (NGV) blockbuster exhibition, French Impressionism from the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston, was forced to close after being open for just 30 days during the 2021 COVID-19 lockdowns in Melbourne.

I was lucky enough to get to visit the show during those 30 days .What a wonderful inspiration it was for me in thise dark days .

Finding myself at home alone with a lot of blank canvases and paint ,this painting is part of a series born from the  inspiration of my lucky visit to the  exhibition and the quiet solitude of lockdown. These paintings are a  creative response to isolation: blending the timeless techniques of the French Masters with the raw, everyday beauty of Mornington's coast during our daily permitted walks.
