Bernadette Devlin Art is committed to being an environmentally responsible artist and ensuring the most sustainable practices possible to minimise their ecological footprint.

An increasing concern for micro plastics in our environment, and the amount of water used with acrylic painting processes, prompted Bernadette to shift back to using oil paint.

Acrylic paints production and disposal can have far-reaching consequences, contributing to the growing problem of microplastics in our environment. 

She now uses an oil paint range made from non-toxic linseed and safflower oils, that do not contain solvents, and do not give off “fumes.” nor do they require solvents for their use. 

Safe disposal of products, working small (unless for commissions) and recycling are some of the other sustainable practices she adopts.
